How to recognize or choose non-woven products?

In recent years, nonwovens have become increasingly popular due to their unique properties and versatility. There are various types of non-woven products in the market these days. So when choosing a non-woven product, the following points should be considered so that you choose the product that best suits your needs.

The first thing to consider is the type of non-woven fabric that needs to be used. Among nonwovens, spunlaced nonwovens are a popular choice due to their high water absorption and soft texture. This makes it suitable for products such as wipes, face masks and medical dressings. Other types of nonwovens, such as melt blown and sweeppunched, have different properties and applications, so knowing what benefits they offer is important for use.

Another key factor to consider is the use of nonwoven products. Different uses require the selection of nonwoven fabrics with different properties, and the structure and composition of nonwoven fabrics will affect their performance. For example, if you need a product with high filtration performance, melt-blown nonwovens will be the right choice. Likewise, if you want a durable product that can withstand frequent washing, needle-punched nonwovens are probably the way to go.

A third factor to consider is the manufacturing process used to produce non-woven fabrics. Different processes produce nonwoven fabrics with different properties. For example, the manufacturing process for spunbond nonwovens involves extruding filaments onto a conveyor belt, which are then bonded together. This makes the fabric strong, and lightweight and has good barrier properties. In contrast, wet lay nonwovens are produced by suspending the fibers in water and bonding them together, resulting in a soft, highly absorbent fabric ideal for use in personal hygiene products.

Other factors to consider when selecting a nonwoven product include the desired size and shape, color, and other properties such as flame retardancy or UV protection.

The selection of nonwoven products should be based on various factors, including the type of nonwoven used, the purpose of the product, and the manufacturing process used to produce the nonwoven. Choosing the right non-woven product will ensure that it meets your needs and performs as expected. -Editor
